The perfect flora of the region

The region of the Joya de los Lagos District is recognized in Honduras as an area of ​​high diversity of flora and fauna, as it has the influence of three large ecosystems: the Cerro Azul Meambar National Park, the Santa Barbara Mountain National Park and the Wetland from Lake Yojoa.

Here is the Botanical Garden of Honduyate - Lake Yojoa, an experimental and demonstrative area of ​​Honduran flora, with a high representation of native species from the Lake Yojoa region. The garden also has a group of exotic flora.

The garden has interpretive trails that allow you to easily know and learn from the different collections such as: orchids, bromeliads, ferns, cacti, heliconias, anthuriums and others, also countless birds, butterflies and animals that adorn it and They guarantee a link between the visitor and nature.
